Copy elements between flows
In the Automation flow builder, you can copy elements with their settings and connections and paste them into another flow. This helps you reuse steps you've already built.
For example, an online school can copy three emails from its welcome series into a new flow for webinar sign-ups. The emails keep their subject lines, content, and execution time.
Let's talk about how to copy elements, paste them into a flow, and check their settings.
Copy elements to the buffer
To use elements in another flow, copy them to the buffer first. The buffer keeps the copied elements in your browser until you paste them.
In Safari, you can copy and paste elements only in a regular window, not in a private one.
Go to Automation > Dashboard. Click the three dots next to the flow with the elements you need and select Edit.
To select elements in the flow builder, hold Shift and click each element you want to copy.
To select all elements in the flow, click Select all elements at the bottom of the builder.
In the Selected elements panel at the top of the builder, click Copy to buffer or press Ctrl + Shift + X.

The copied elements will appear in the Copied elements panel.
The Auto-flow start element isn't copied, even if you select it.
The buffer holds one set of elements. If you copy other elements before you paste, they replace the previous ones. The copied elements stay in the buffer even if you reload the page.
To create copies of elements in the same flow right away, click Duplicate in the Selected elements panel.

Paste elements into a flow
You can paste the copied elements into any flow: an existing flow, a new one, or the flow you copied them from. You can also paste elements into drafts and flow templates.
In the same browser, open the flow you want to paste the elements into, for example, in an adjacent tab. You can also create a new flow. Set up the new flow's start first and then paste the elements.
The Copied elements panel is hidden while elements or connections are selected or a sidebar is open.
To show it, close the sidebar or clear the selection by clicking an empty area of the workspace.
In the Copied elements panel, click Paste or press Ctrl + Shift + V.

The elements will appear in the visible part of the workspace with their settings and connections.
The pasted elements stay selected. To move the whole group to a free spot, drag any of them.
To add the pasted elements to your flow, link the first of them to the previous element. Then, check them and click Save.
Once you paste the elements, SendPulse clears the buffer.
To paste the same elements again, copy them once more.
To clear the buffer without pasting, click Clear.
Flow limits apply when you paste elements. The number of elements depends on your pricing plan. Each flow supports up to 20 comments.
If the new elements make your flow exceed a limit, SendPulse doesn't paste them. To stay within the limit, copy fewer elements or remove some from the flow.
Check the pasted elements
Some settings depend on the flow start. If they don't match the target flow, SendPulse resets them.
SendPulse highlights in red the elements you need to set up again. To remove the highlight, open the element, check its settings, and click Apply.
SendPulse doesn't copy the image from the Push element, so add it again after pasting.
Check every pasted element before you save the flow. What exactly changes depends on the start settings of both flows.
If both flows have the same start settings, SendPulse pastes the elements without changes. The same applies when you paste them into the flow you copied them from.
If the start settings differ, SendPulse changes the pasted elements as follows:
- mailing lists, variables, and events that depend on the start are reset to the target flow's values;
- a condition that checks a variable missing from the target flow is removed from the Filter element;
- the Move subscriber, Change variable, and Add Google Sheets data actions are reset if the flows have different start types, for example, New subscriber and New deal;
- actions that the target flow's start doesn't support are reset, and these elements are highlighted in red. For example, the Delete task action is reset if the flow doesn't start with a CRM task trigger.
Team members with different user roles follow the same rules when they paste elements.
If a role has limited access to CRM or Courses, team members with this role can still paste elements with CRM and Courses settings.
To view or change pipelines, statuses, and courses in the pasted elements, team members need access to CRM and Courses.
