Downgrade your pricing plan

You can downgrade your pricing plan and pay for it after your current plan expires. This helps you use all the features included in your current plan and plan your switch to a more affordable option in advance.

In this article, we will talk about how to downgrade your pricing plan.

Basics

The downgrade process varies based on your current plan status:

  • You have an active pricing plan. The new plan will be scheduled. Your current limits remain available until your plan expires. SendPulse won’t charge you for the new plan right away — you will be charged when the new plan activates.
  • Your current plan has already expired. If your pricing plan has expired, SendPulse will activate and charge you for the lower plan immediately.

Let’s take a closer look at how payments work when your plan is scheduled.

Switch to a lower-tier pricing plan

Go to the selected SendPulse tool and open the Pricing plans tab.

On the pricing page, choose a plan that fits your business needs and click Activate.

If you use the pricing plan builder, select plan terms in the selected SendPulse tool.

When you downgrade your pricing plan, you keep your current limits until the end of your paid period. SendPulse activates your new plan only after your current plan expires and charges you at that time. You are not billed when you select the new plan, so you don’t lose any remaining paid days.

You can schedule only one plan per SendPulse tool at a time — the most recently selected plan will take effect. Before it activates, you can update or change your scheduled plan.

Schedule a pricing plan payment

SendPulse charges you for your new plan on the day your current billing period ends, not when you switch to a lower-tier plan. To view your scheduled plans, go to My orders > Scheduled subscriptions.

Check your account balance on your plan’s renewal day. If there aren’t enough funds to cover the full amount, your plan will not be activated. If automated payment fails, make sure to pay for your subscription manually before activation.

Your payment method depends on your subscription renewal and balance top-up settings:

  • if you’ve enabled auto-renewal, the new plan cost is deducted from your account balance;
  • if your balance does not have enough funds, but you enabled auto-recharge, your card is charged automatically.

If you cancel your subscription and switch to a free plan, no charges will apply.

If your plan has already expired, SendPulse does not schedule a downgrade. Once you make a payment, the lower-tier plan is activated immediately.
