How to Send AMP Emails

AMP for Email is a technology for creating interactive emails. Users can interact with in real-time right in their inbox.

To use AMP technology in emails, first set up SPF, DKIM, and DMARC records for the domain name of the sender email address. The DMARC policy should be set to "quarantine" or "reject".

Request Validation of the Sender Address from Gmail

Send a request directly from the SendPulse service.

Go to the service settings and open the "Other settings" tab.

SendPulse service settings

In the "AMP emails" section, click the "Create request" button.

Creating a request for email validation

In the "Request for validation of sender email address" form, select an email address from which you will send campaigns. The email address must be with a domain for which SPF, DKIM, and DMARC records are configured.

Subject of an example email

The request is sent with an example of an AMP email. Add a subject and code of an AMP email in the request form. You can add your code or use one of the service templates.

If you are using a service template, edit the template code so that it corresponds to your business.

Click the "Preview" button to see how the AMP email will look like.

Click "Send request."

Wait for a confirmation email to the email address specified as the sender email address within a few days.

Registration with various email services differs. Consult developer documentation for more information on the registration process:

Write the Email Code

As soon as you receive confirmation of the sender email address validation, you can start creating AMP emails.

Study the AMP for email specification for a better understanding of how this technology works and how to apply it in emails.

Create HTML code for the AMP version of the email.

Test your AMP email before you send it to your subscribers. Use the Gmail AMP for Email Playground to practice. It provides a set of components that you can use to write your code. Here you can preview how the email will look like, test the work of such elements as "accordion," "carousel" and the like.

You can take active components from the AMP component catalog.

AMP for Email requires HTTPS links. Use standard service variables, such as {{unsubscribe_link}}, to add links to AMP emails.

If you add links to an email via custom variables, the links may not be validated. In this case, the email recipients will see the HTML version of the email, instead of the AMP version.

See the examples of emails with different AMP elements.

Add the Email Code to a Campaign

In the "EMAIL" tab, click "Create a campaign."

Specify the information about the campaign and click "Next."

Information about a campaign

If the AMP code of the email is correct, the "Next" button will be active, and you can continue to create the campaign.

AMP emails must contain plaintext, AMP, and HTML versions. If such an email is received to an email service that does not support the AMP technology, the HTML version will be displayed to recipients.

While sending a campaign via API, use the body_amp parameter to submit the AMP email code in the request.
