Start an automation by event in the Action element

The Start an automation by event action triggers an automation when a chatbot sends an event. Use it to transfer subscriber data from your chatbot to email or SMS campaigns and branch your flow based on chatbot events.

Let's walk you through how to set up the Start an automation by event action.

Add the Action element

Before using this action, create an event in the Automation event manager. Make sure your event variables match the chatbot variables you plan to pass.

Drag the Action element to the workspace. In the settings that appear, select Start an automation by event.

Select the event your automation will listen for.

To map variables, select a chatbot value in Variable and match it with the corresponding A360 Event Field. If your flow requires specific fields, map them so that the automation can run without issues.

Save the element

Click Apply. The element is now ready and will send an event with the mapped subscriber data to trigger your automation every time a subscriber reaches this step.
