Statistics in Your Account
SendPulse collects statistics on delivery and link clicks for web push campaigns.
To view general statistics on all web push campaigns, in your SendPulse account, open the “Dashboard” page in the “PUSH” section.
To view information about a specific campaign, go to “PUSH” - “My campaigns.” Open a campaign from the list.
To find information about subscribers’ browsers, OS, IPs, and regions open "PUSH" - "Dashboard." In the "My Sites" section, click the required site and open the "Subscribers" tab.
Statistics about Web Push Campaigns with Google Analytics
Add UTM codes to a web push campaign to collect site statistics on it.
UTM codes are parameters that allow you to determine where traffic to your site is coming from. Thus, you can evaluate the effectiveness of different marketing channels.
Required UTM codes:
utm_campaign
is a campaign ID, which helps find campaigns in Google Analytics.
utm_source
is a traffic source, advertising system.
utm_medium
is a traffic channel.
How to add UTM codes to a web push campaign
The service provides three ways to use UTM codes in web push campaigns:
- add codes by default;
- set your value for utm_campaign;
- set your tags.
Adding tags by default
When creating a web push campaign, click the settings button.
Select the “UTM Codes” checkbox.
utm_campaign=
a numeric value, utm_source=sendpulse
and utm_medium=push
will be added to the link in the web push notification.
Setting your value for utm_campaign
Select the “UTM Codes” checkbox.
In the “utm_campaign” field, enter your campaign ID, for example, best50%.
The tags utm_campaign=best50%
, utm_source=sendpulse
, and utm_medium=push
will be added to the link in the web push notification.
Setting your tags
Enter the link with the specified UTM codes into the “Web push link” field.
Make sure the SendPulse UTM codes are disabled.
To create a link manually, specify a full URL of a page to which the web push notification should lead.
At the end of the page, the link adds a question mark.
Specify UTM codes, connecting them with the “&” character.
Example: https://best.com/?utm_campaign=best50%&utm_source=sendpulse&utm_medium=push
To generate links automatically, use special applications, for example:
How to Track Web Push Statistics on Google Analytics
Go to "Acquisition" - "All Traffic" - "Channels."
Select “Medium” as a primary dimension.
Find the data on the "push" medium in the table.
To view campaign data, open the “Other” drop-down menu, click “Acquisition,” and click “Campaign.”
In the campaign column, find the name that corresponds to the utm_campaign
code in your campaign.
