TikTok chatbot messaging guidelines
TikTok chatbots help brands engage followers and drive interactions through personalized communication flows. To use them effectively, make sure to account for the technical and regional factors involved.
Due to TikTok’s regulations, users whose accounts were created in the EU, EEA (European Economic Area), or the United States cannot subscribe to TikTok chatbots as of now.
Response window
A TikTok chatbot can send up to 10 messages within 48 hours after the subscriber’s last reply. Once this window closes, your chatbot can continue the conversation only if the subscriber sends another message.
To view the remaining time before a response window closes, open your subscriber’s card and check the Support window is active section.
We recommend designing your flow using a variety of elements to keep subscribers engaged. Ask follow-up questions, send personalized offers, and include variables to keep the conversation going until your goal is reached.
Supported content types
Subscribers can message TikTok chatbots using text and standard emojis only. The same applies to your chatbot, as media files aren’t supported.
TikTok chatbot flows don’t support buttons that redirect subscribers to payment pages or external websites. However, you can include links, such as checkout links, in your message text.
