Changes to the SendPulse Email Service Free Plan: Everything You Need to Know

To keep our email service running smoothly and continue delivering regular improvements, we’re making some changes to our free plan. Some advanced features will now be part of paid plans, while the essential tools you need to get started with email marketing will remain free. Here’s what’s changing.

New pricing plans

We’ve updated our free plan to focus on the essentials, while advanced features are now available in paid tiers for users who need more flexibility and control.

With a free plan, you can still:

  • send campaigns anytime you want;
  • manage up to five mailing lists;
  • use our default subscription confirmation email template;
  • track clicks through the SendPulse domain or your already connected custom domain.

With a paid plan, you’ll be able to:

  • schedule campaigns by date and time;
  • design custom subscription confirmation emails;
  • add or reconnect your custom tracking domain;
  • manage more than five mailing lists.

Updates in detail

Here’s a breakdown of what’s changing and how it affects you.

Mailing lists

What’s changing: Free plan users can create up to five mailing lists. If you already have more than five, you’ll keep them, but you can’t create new ones.

Now in paid plans: Creating more than five mailing lists.

What you can do: Upgrade to a paid plan if you need to add more lists in the future.

Campaign scheduling

What’s changing: On the Free plan, you can continue sending campaigns manually.

Now in paid plans: Scheduling campaigns by date and time for automatic sending.

What you can do: Upgrade to a paid plan to schedule campaigns in advance or manage different time zones.

Subscription confirmation emails

What’s changing: On the Free plan, only the default opt-in template is available. If you already use a custom template, it will still work for new subscribers.

Now in paid plans: Creating or editing custom opt-in emails to reflect your brand.

What you can do: Switch to a paid plan if you’d like to design a branded double opt-in email.

Tracking domain

What’s changing: On the Free plan, you can continue using the SendPulse domain or any custom domain you’ve already connected.

Now in paid plans: Reconnecting an existing custom domain or adding a new one.

What you can do: Upgrade to a paid plan if you need to change or reconnect your tracking domain.

What you can do now: checklist

  • Check your mailing lists. If you plan to create new ones, prepare to switch to a paid plan. Or merge subscribers into 2–3 lists so you can stay within the Free plan limit.
  • Review your scheduling needs. If you send campaigns on a schedule or across time zones, choose a paid plan that fits your workflow.
  • Go over your subscription confirmation email. If you need a branded double opt-in email, consider upgrading to a paid plan.
  • Check your tracking domain. If your current setup works, you don’t need to do anything. If you want to change or add a domain, upgrade to a paid plan.

FAQs

Here are answers to some common questions.

I have eight mailing lists. Can I keep them without switching plans?
Yes. You can keep all your existing mailing lists on the Free plan, but to create new ones, you’ll need to upgrade to a paid plan.

Can I still send campaigns on the Free plan?
Yes, you can send campaigns manually at any time. Scheduling campaigns by date and time is available only on paid plans.

Will I still be able to use my custom opt-in email?
Yes. If you already use a custom opt-in email, it will continue working for new subscribers. To create a new one or make changes, you’ll need a paid plan.

What will happen to my custom tracking domain?
If your custom domain is already connected, it will keep working. However, if you’d like to reconnect it or add a new domain, you’ll need to upgrade to a paid plan.

Wrapping up

The Free plan remains a solid starting point. You can send campaigns manually, manage up to 5 mailing lists, use the default double opt-in email template, and track clicks through the SendPulse domain or any custom domain you’ve already connected.

If you’d like to schedule campaigns, create branded double opt-in emails, add more mailing lists, or connect a new tracking domain, upgrading to a paid plan gives you access to these advanced features. A paid plan unlocks the full potential of SendPulse, making it easier to run powerful, scalable email campaigns.
