SendPulse Email Skill

A skill for running email campaigns in SendPulse. You describe the task in plain words — "add the contacts from this file to my list," "send a campaign to everyone who opened an email last month," "show me how yesterday's campaign did" — and the assistant does it in your account. No API docs to read, no hunting for the right screen. The skill knows how the product works, where its limits are, and which mistakes beginners make, so it takes the short path. It also stops you from doing what peop

Features

  • Mailing lists and contacts. Create lists, import subscribers with variables (name, city, and purchase date), track statuses, and manage the blocklist. Tags come with Pro plans and above.

  • Segmentation. Built-in segments (new, active, and inactive) plus custom conditions based on variables and behavior. The skill pushes you toward a segment instead of a blast, because sending everything to everyone is the top cause of unsubscribes.

  • Campaigns. Create them, schedule them for a specific date and time, edit or cancel a scheduled campaign, and save drafts.

  • A/B tests for subject lines and content: variants go to part of your list, and the winner goes to the rest automatically. You set this up in SendPulse, and the skill tells you when a test is worth running and walks you through it.

  • Resend to people who didn't open. Usually adds 10–30% more reach with no new content, as long as open tracking was on for the original campaign.

  • Send at the best time for each recipient, once there's enough open history, or deliver in their local time zone.

  • Campaign analytics: opens, clicks, unsubscribes, complaints, and breakdowns by country and link. The skill reads the numbers back to you and says what to change next time.

  • Guardrails against expensive mistakes: a cost check before you send, reminders about test emails and sender verification, and an honest heads-up that the first campaigns from a new account go through review.

  • Webhooks for real-time events, plus ready-to-run code in curl, PHP, Python, and Node.js.

How to connect

  1. Add the skill to your assistant. Download the sendpulse-email-skill folder from the SendPulse GitHub repository. In Claude Code, drop it into ~/.claude/skills/ (or into .claude/skills/ in your project if the whole team needs it). In the Claude app, zip the folder and upload it under Settings → Capabilities → Skills → Upload skill.

  2. Connect your SendPulse account. In your assistant's connector settings, add the MCP server https://mcp.sendpulse.com/mcp, log in to SendPulse, and grant access to the tools you need. One-time setup, about 10 minutes.

  3. Check your sender. The sender address has to be verified and on a corporate domain — campaigns from gmail.com and other free domains won't go out.

  4. Describe what you want: "Create a list called Customers and add the contacts from this file."

Building this into your own app instead? Skip MCP and grab an API key under Settings → API → API keys. The skill also runs in ChatGPT, Cursor, and Gemini — see the adapters folder in the repository.

Use cases

  • Regular campaigns without the manual work. A marketer describes the task in chat; the assistant picks the segment, schedules the campaign, and brings back the numbers once it's sent.

  • Cleaning up a mailing list. An export from your CRM or online store becomes a mailing list with variables ready for personalization. For an old or doubtful list, the skill tells you to run it through Email Verifier first.

  • Making sense of campaign performance. "Why are opens down this time?" The assistant reads the stats and suggests what to change: the subject line, the segment, the send time, or the list itself.

  • Automating campaigns inside your own product. Your developer gets working code in their language, with the API limits already accounted for.
